Teeth Whitening

At Kleypas Family Dentistry, our dentist and team members work hard to make sure that you leave our office with a brighter, more confident smile.

┃Should I get my teeth whitened?

Contrary to what some people may believe, teeth whitening procedures are not just for those with severe staining from common causes such as smoking, aging or habitual exposure to various foods and beverages. Staining or discoloration of the teeth may be caused by genetics, poor dental hygiene, trauma, environment or even medications, which means that teeth whitening is a cosmetic dentistry procedure for anyone looking to smile brighter. If you experience poor self-esteem or a lack of confidence when smiling due to the discoloration of your teeth, then consider the simple and effective methods of teeth whitening offered by Kleypas Family Dentistry. By minimizing discoloration or stains on the surface of your teeth, teeth whitening gives you the confidence you need to smile brighter!

┃What kinds of teeth whitening procedures are available?

Kleypas Family Dentistry provides patients throughout the Cy-Fair area with teeth whitening solutions both in the office and in take-home trays. Both options are safe and effective for patients looking to achieve a brighter, whiter smile.

┃What is the most effective way to whiten my teeth?

For faster and more stunning results, Dr. Kleypas recommends our in-office whitening procedure. With our in-office teeth whitening, Dr. Kleypas uses the combination of a medical-grade bleach solution and special light triggering a chemical process resulting in brighter, whiter teeth.

Our office also offers take home whitening strips and trays, which allows patients to whiten their teeth from the comfort and convenience of home. If you choose at-home whitening trays or strips, please be sure to follow the dentist’s directions and read the instructions carefully. Results from at-home whitening strips or trays are not as immediate or as stunning, so please be sure to discuss your cosmetic dentistry goals with Dr. Kleypas before determining which teeth whitening procedure may be right for you.

┃Is teeth whitening permanent?

While the teeth whitening treatments offered by Kleypas Family Dental are highly effective in helping you achieve a whiter smile, the results are not permanent. Causes for teeth discoloration and staining vary and include poor dental hygiene, different foods and beverages such as red wine, red pasta sauce, colas, certain fruits and vegetables, and coffee. The most effective way to prevent further discoloration is by practicing good oral hygiene such as brushing and flossing your teeth regularly, visiting your dentist, Dr. Kleypas, regularly (recommended every 6 months) and avoiding foods, drinks or habits that cause teeth staining.
